Former Apink member and actress Son Naeun has finally addressed why she was absent from fellow member Yoon Bomi‘s wedding earlier this year.
On July 29, Son Naeun sat down for an interview following the conclusion of her SBS drama Manager Kim, where she reflected on both her acting career and her relationship with her former group.
Son Naeun debuted as a member of Apink in 2011, balancing idol promotions and acting before officially leaving the group in 2022 to focus on her acting career. During the interview, she shared her thoughts on still being referred to as a “singer-turned-actress.”
“It’s true, so I don’t want to deny it. I think it’s a title I’m grateful for. I think my biggest task is continuing to build trust as an actress.”
The interview also touched on Yoon Bomi’s wedding to composer Rado, which took place on May 16. The ceremony drew attention after Apink members reunited to perform a congratulatory song, while original member Hong Yookyung, who left the group in 2013, also attended as a guest. However, fans noticed that Son Naeun was absent from the celebration, leading many to wonder why she did not attend.
Addressing the speculation for the first time, Son Naeun explained that she was unable to attend because she was in the final stages of filming. Despite missing the wedding, she emphasized that she sincerely wished Yoon Bomi happiness.
“It was the final stretch of filming. It’s a team that holds precious memories from my teens and twenties. Whenever something good happens, I genuinely want to congratulate them and hope everything goes well.”
She concluded by reassuring fans that her feelings toward Apink have never changed. Her comments have been welcomed by fans, many of whom expressed relief to hear that her absence was due to work commitments rather than any issues between the former groupmates.
